Half Yard Productions is expanding their successful television production business with a new office in New York and the creation of a senior management team to take their business to the next level.
Since opening its doors in 2006, Half Yard has grown into a national development and production house, with several successful series under its belt. Half Yard is currently producing or developing shows for a variety of networks, including History, Discovery, Animal Planet, TruTV, National Geographic Channel, TLC, Bravo, Oxygen, Lifetime, FitTV and Versus. As the Half Yard business has grown, so has the need for space and staffing.
Half Yard Productions owners Sean Gallagher and Abby Greensfelder have created a senior management team to oversee their growing production output and provide additional strategic and creative direction to their clients:
????Janice Mezzetti, Head of Production, based in Bethesda, MD: Janice is a seasoned TV veteran who previously oversaw the BBC office in New York. Past credits include What Not to Wear and Samantha Brown's Weekend. Janice will oversee all production operations for the company.
????Nicole Sorrenti, Head of Programming & Executive Producer, NY: Nicole brings over 15 years of experience in editing, directing and production to her new role in overseeing Half Yard's New York-based production output. Nicole has worked for Half Yard since it opened its doors, producing the original series Say Yes to the Dress and most recently serving as Executive Producer on Real Housewives of DC.
????Greg Smith, Head of Programming & Executive Producer, Bethesda, MD: Greg has been a member of the Half Yard team for a number of years, spearheading various projects, including Discovery Channel's popular American Loggers series. He has also produced and edited a number of Emmy-nominated series and specials, including Before the Dinosaurs. Greg will oversee Half Yard's Bethesda-based production output.
????Michele Kurtz, Director of Development, Bethesda, MD: As a producer, writer, researcher and former journalist, Michele has created content and guided casting for numerous TV shows and will bring that experience to bear on all development content for Half Yard.
????Rossana O'Hop, Vice President, Finance & Accounting: A CPA and former Manager of Finance with Twentieth Century Fox as well as National Geographic Television & Film, Rossana joined Half Yard in 2007. She manages all financial planning and accounting for the company.
To support its growth, Half Yard is opening a new production office in New York, located at 233 Spring Street. The company will remain headquartered in Bethesda, MD where the principals are located.
