Dog-people, cat-people, bunny, fish and bird-people all have one thing in common: they connect with and love animals. Even the most hardened and grumpy person can become a softy when a puppy is around. That?s because pets are often our most loving and loyal companions, yet seldom do we honor their devotion with a blessing from God.
Silverado Senior Living ? Escondido invites the public to join in our Blessing of the Animals on August 21 from 10:30AM ? Noon at 1500 Borden Road | Escondido, CA 92026

Because pets are a source for interaction and unconditional love, Silverado communities emphasize the use of pet interaction in their ongoing therapy programs. Our pet menagerie has included dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, a chinchilla and even miniature horses. In addition to dozens of community-owned pets, Silverado also allows ? and encourages ? residents to keep their family pet when moving in to their new home.
Silverado Senior Living is a specialized memory-care community that offers assisted living services for those with Alzheimer?s disease and other forms of memory-impairment. The company was founded in 1997 and opened its first community in Escondido, California and has since grown into a family of 21 communities across 5 states including California, Utah, Arizona, Texas and Illinois.
Silverado?s innovative Alzheimer?s care model has gained national and international recognition. Including numerous awards for ?The Silverado Story: A Memory-Care Culture Where Love is Greater than Fear,? a book authored by Silverado co-founders Loren Shook and Stephen Winner to detail the philosophy of care behind Silverado?s success and to serve as a resource for families and caregivers.
